NCR integrating mobile with digital signage, kiosks

NCR Retail has been working with interactive tech firm Screenreach on merging mobile with digital signage and kiosks, and at this year's Customer Engagement Technology World in San Francisco it showcased a new platform combining Screenreach's Screach app with the NCR Netkey platform.

The NCR Netkey platform delivers content to digital signage or kiosks that display QR codes, which a consumer can capture using his smartphone. He first must download the free Screach app, according to NCR's Donna Stevens, product line director for self-service kiosk and digital Signage.

"Consumers using the Screach application have access to offers, video games and other types of experiences on their mobile phones, which they can then in turn interact with self-service kiosks to be able to have discounts and purchase products," Stevens said during an interview at CETW.
